Maps and Charts for 2020
Interactive maps are available at the US Religion Census site.
The maps available below were originally designed to highlight specific religious bodies, helping to note locations and concentrations of churches and adherents.
372 faith groups have been included in the 2020 U.S. Religion Census.
These maps may be downloaded and shared, under the condition that the citation on the map is included in
any distribution.
NOTE: In an effort to better match the ASARB standards for adherents, a few religious bodies changed the way their adherents
were reported in 2020, including African American groups, Anabaptist groups, and Friends groups. This change does
not affect any of the data in the newly released 2020 U.S. Religion Census: Religious Congregations & Membership Study.
Indeed, data for these groups are now more comparable to that of other bodies than in previous decadal reports. Adherent estimates
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also used a different methodology in 2010. Therefore caution
should be used when downloading comparison maps for these groups.
